I’m back and bringing the beats! Protocol features 20 killer club tracks to get on down to. The queen house vocalist Nadia Ali lays the foundation for the unrelenting bombs that follow, with lots of big names in the lineup such Axwell, Chris Lake and Laidback Luke. I got my hands on a few awesome Hardwell bootlegs and couldn’t help mixing them in, so good! I noticed once I finished the mix that there are heaps of Australian producers featured such as Dirty South, Tommy Trash, Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl plus my hometown hero Danny T with the super rad closing track – Go Aussie! It’s been way too long since my last release so here’s a banging mix combining 20 of the hottest club tracks out right now! Daydream starts off with David Guetta & Afrojack smacking you in the face with their new collaboration called Lunar (reminds me a bit of Daft Punk!) before one of Australia’s favourite sons Tommy Trash maintains the tempo with his huge remix of Edge of the Earth. The mix then changes gears back and forth from familiar vocal tracks to electro bombs to keep you on your toes. Play it loud! (continue reading…)
INUND8

Prepare to be inundated with electro bombs as 24 of the biggest tracks of 2011 (so far) bust your speakers! Getting off to a cracking start is a remix from two great Australian producers Hook N Sling and Goodwill.. I must say that I even prefer this remix over Axwell’s (blasphemy I know!), but the SHM line up nicely afterwards with their booty of Splendido. Love the bassline of the Superskank remix, then Steve Angello & Alex Metric bring the game-changing brilliance of Open Your Eyes.. Such a fresh sounding track! The mix gets really chunky and masculine after the half-way mark before some brilliant remixes of classic hard-house tracks from a decade ago make an appearance. Inund8 rounds off with some sweet female vocal work in the last three tracks, funky stuff outta nowhere! (continue reading…)

Time to get a little more dirty! Belter is light on the vocals and heavy on the relentless, chunky beats. All the big names make an appearance in this mix.. 27 cracking tracks I managed to squeeze in there! Belter takes you on a wild ride, with even some bigroom prog thrown in there to give you a quick rest before throwing down the stomping beats again. Props to Steve Angello for bringing out so many massive tracks lately! So quit reading this.. download this mix and get belted! (continue reading…)
Feeder

Feeder serves up nothing but big, fat, juicy house music in all forms. From techno to prog to electro and everything in between, Feeder focuses on vocal heavy tracks that are built for the dancefloor. There has been a large push lately to bring back the strong soulful vocals of classic house music, and champions such as Axwell and Max Vangeli have been leading the charge. Lots of fan favourites and remixed classics feature in this mix, and I even drop some phat Dutch house bombs towards the end. The final track is a cracker for fellow Aussies :D (continue reading…)
Vulcan

Time for another dance floor destroyer, Vulcan is overflowing with clubland hits! Axwell, Angello and Ingrosso open up the mix with a boom.. how could I not start the mix with Number One? Such a banger. From then on the killer beats are unrelenting, featuring tracks from basically all the biggest names in dance music. Everyone’s favourite Mau5 has some fresh tracks in there, and I’ve really been digging Avicii lately with his classic house piano work, so he features prominently in Vulcan. I really love the ‘Swedish Beauty’s Diamond Life’ bootleg.. purely epic. I finished off with the smooth track ‘Drifting From City To City’ because I found myself playing it a lot on my recent trip to Miami. Nice way to wind down the mix. Give it a spin! Deluxo
by StreX on Dec.31, 2009, under 2009, Mixes

Deluxo showcases some great progressive house tracks featuring fine female vocals and smooth synth melodies. Lots of big names on this mix with stellar tracks from Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, Gregor Salto, Avicii, Kaskade, plus some classy remixes from local Brisbane legend Nick Galea. The stand-out tracks for me are the two remixes done by Arno Cost, he absolutely kills it with his use of vocals, lyrics and driving basslines. Deluxo is a perfect mix for earlier in the evening to set the groove. (continue reading…)

Ravage
by StreX on Jul.29, 2009, under 2009, Mixes

Prepare to have your speakers raped by the straight up mainroom house and banging electro of Ravage. Bomb after bomb is dropped by the electronica elite, such as Axwell, Deadmau5, Basement Jaxx, TV Rock, and even Snoop Dogg’s gangsta flow gets the electro treatment! I did some pretty slick mixing and especially liked the epic triple build of tracks 16 and 17 before peaking with TV Rock’s stomping remix of “Can’t Hold Back”. I love the lyrics of “You’re Rude”, it’s been a favorite of mine from many years ago. Ravage is more commercial than my other recent mixes, but this kind of shit goes off at parties like nothing else. Blast it. (continue reading…)
